1st Energy Ministerial meeting with the participation of Greece, Cyprus, Israel and USA in Athens

Greece is hosting the 1st Energy Ministerial Meeting with the participation of Greece, Cyprus, Israel and the United States, at the Hilton hotel in Athens, Wednesday, August 7.
In the framework of the meeting, Greek Environment and Energy Minister Costis Hatzidakis will welcome Cypriot Energy, Commerce and Industry Minister George Lakkotripis, Israeli Energy and Water Resources Minister Yuval Steinitz and the US deputy Foreign Minister for energy sources Francis Fannon.
The Energy Ministerial meeting’s aim is to acknowledge energy sectors of potential cooperation and to agree on the formation of a working group of high-ranking political and public sector officials which will determine specific projects and recommend support measures.
In the sidelines of the meeting, ministers are also expected to work towards giving a fundamental push to an inter-governmental agreement to build the East Med gas pipeline.
